| The Mazes' and Cystic Fibrosis
Maze Collision Repair is very active in raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Owners, Johnny and Sandy Maze, have two daughters, Tammy Krumrey and Renee’ Prager. The two daughters and their husbands have given the Maze’s five grandchildren, in which three of them suffer from Cystic Fibrosis, a terminal disease. Finding a cure is very important to them.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease affecting approximately 30,000 children and young adults in the US. It is a recessive gene, and in order to have CF, one must get one of the genes from both parents. One out of 30 people in the US are carriers of the faulty CF gene! When two carriers have a child, there is a 25% chance that their baby will have the disease. CF causes the mucus in the lungs, digestive system and sinuses to be thick and sticky. People with CF suffer lung infections and most cannot digest fat and protein and therefore need to take pancreatic enzymes with meals and snacks in order to gain weight. The average life expectancy of someone with CF is now almost 36 years old. A great increase of the 2 years life expectancy almost 35 years ago. But it is still not good enough! Almost half of those with CF will loose their battle with the disease by the tender age of 18. It is a difficult disease to live with for all in the family. It takes a lot to maintain the health of a CF child. The Maze’s Grandchildren

Johnny and Sandy love spending time with their grandchildren. And they truly believe the old saying “If I would have known how great grandkids were, I would have had them first!”
